From the desk of the Curator: TEDxChesterRiver is coming to the Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts on the campus of Washington College in Chestertown, MD on June 30, 2012. That means less than two months to go….
The best part? Talking to all the speakers and making sure they are up for their 18 minutes of TEDx fame. The hardest part? Talking to the speakers and making sure…well, you get the picture.
I love the fact that I get to shut the door to the world for 20 minutes and just chat with someone about what might happen if the Native Americans had never encountered the colonists, or at least had done so later through trade rather than conquest. Or discuss which aspect of someone’s fascinating life might make the best tale. But not everyone understands what makes a TED talk different from any other talk, and that’s hard to get across, especially through a wrangler.
What a learning experience. I’m lovin’ it.
