From the desk of the Curator: TEDxChesterRiver 2014 is coming to the Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts on the campus of Washington College in Chestertown, MD on March 1. That means only weeks to go!
The best part? Talking to all the speakers and making sure they are up for their 18 minutes of TEDx fame. The hardest part? Talking to the speakers and making sure…well, you get the picture.
I love the fact that I get to shut the door to the world for 20 minutes and just chat with someone about what’s happening in the field of cancer and genetics. Or learn about how to change cultures around the world. Or figure out how to help someone convey the power of a personal journey. Not everyone understands what makes a TED talk different from any other talk, and that’s hard to get across. Until you watch a TED talk. Then it all becomes clear.
What a learning experience. I’m lovin’ it.
